Taylar Shirley Catherine Enlow
MY STORY

Rooted in natural forms and rhythms.
My name is Taylar Shirley Catherine Enlow. A mouthful— I know, but I believe that names carry meaning. Most simply call me Taylar. I was born in Lenapehoking on land also known as the city of Philadelphia.
I am a multidisciplinary creator and Earth-based healing practitioner birthing and stewarding projects inspired by my first loves: storytelling and the natural world.
During my early teen years, I developed endometriosis—a debilitating and chronic disease. After years of feeling unsupported by the Western medical complex, I journeyed in search of answers. That decade-long initiation led me to the teachings of holistic healing long embodied in Eastern traditions, which are foundational to my life and work today.
I am the founder and creative director of Heritage—a home for collective healing.
Heritage is a media and lifestyle company creating space for kinship, conversation, and collaboration with artists and organizers working at the intersections of culture, ecology, and spirituality.
Through our digital and print offerings, we seek to honor, uplift, and archive narratives of healing and community from the global majority.
I am deeply invested in the preservation of Black and indigenous cultural narratives, practices, and teachings—particularly those of women. My work is grounded in ancestral traditions of mutual care.
As founder of Heritage, my intention is to share these and highlight the work of those affecting positive change in their communities and for future generations.
MORE about MY BACKGROUND
Currently, I am a graduate student at Union Theological Seminary pursuing an interdisciplinary Master of Arts in Religion focused on spiritual ecology and earth ethics within an Africana framework. I am also the communications and events intern at the Center for Earth Ethics. Additionally, I serve as co-chair of the Eco-Justice Caucus and incoming co-chair of the Pagan Caucus on campus.
I am a certified holistic health practitioner and gained my certification after studying East Asian medicine, Ayurveda, and longevity science at the Academy of Healing Nutrition.
I am also certified in somatic womb work, a radical transdisciplinary modality that weaves together somatics, mindfulness, traditional earth-based wisdom and womb-pelvic bowl healing to support clients in cultivating greater womb and pelvic bowl embodiment.
I previously served as a community voice for the National Folklife Network, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts, and as program coordinator of the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center at Howard University.
I am a graduate of Temple University and hold a degree in global studies with a concentration in Africana cultures and religions cum laude with distinction in major.
At my core, I am an overzealous cat mom, chai lover, bibliophile, and lifelong apprentice to the Earth.
